Create the right workforce attitude towards change

We are now living, working, training and supporting others in a world of web 2.0 which means that things are changing fast and to survive businesses need to change too.  However this can be derailed if the workforce doesn't want to change behaviour at the same pace that is required by the business.

So how to change workforce behaviour?

Using the key principles of attitudinal development, the SK Profiler is a tool which measures an individual's knowledge, skill and attitude within an identified situation and highlights how this can affect personal attitude and behaviour.

Using 54 statements of fact for enquiry, and then providing meaningful information about how an individual uses knowledge (thinking), skills (doing) and attitude (being) in their workplace, this tool helps you and your workforce work out how to change their behaviour to better meet the demands of a changing business.

The results are then mapped onto a three bi-polar dimensional model of learning and attitudinal behaviour

(Simmonds, 2007).

About the SK Profiler

Based upon more than six years of research, development and application the SK Profiler has shown its value in helping individuals become self-aware and how to learn more effectively.  In so doing they achieve their potential by changing their behaviour which impacts upon life goals and aspirations AND work performance.

Different to employee motivation, intelligence or personality instruments, results from the SK Profiler analysis can change

depending on the situation being addressed.  Its dimensions have been validated by over 50 years of published research

into taxonomies of learning domains and the relationship between an individual, their use of preferred behavioural learning responses and work performance.

Quick to administer, the SK Profiler produces highly actionable results that provide a real focus for personal development and improvement, has evidence of 'predictive validity' and offers a proven basis for achieving attitudinal change.

Languages, formats, results and applications

The SK Profiler is currently only available in English and in a choice of formats that allows user to choose the one that best meets their immediate needs:

  1. Soft copy of the profiler in a word document sent by email

  2. Hard copy of the SK Profiler by post (P&P charges will apply)

Clear instructions about how to complete the profiler are provided along with detailed analysis of the results presented along with our unique 'Learning from Action & Reflection Log'™

Results are presented on a map showing scores against European norms

A 'traffic-light' feedback approach is used to offer guidance and tips on how to address blockages that affect peoples' attitudes to behavioural change.

The SK Profiler helps an individual understand WHY they might need to learn and therefore can be applied by an individual or as part of a training group or coaching or mentoring programme.  It is currently being used by different sectors in the UK and by many different Regional Development Agencies across Europe.

Other languages currently being poduced incude: Russian, Latvian and Standard Arabic.

The importance of attitudinal development

Less than a third of employees are motivated to perform well in their job by money, according to 2010 data released by the National Training Awards and YouGov. The biggest motivator for 43% of staff surveyed was having a passion for their job or firm where they work and adopting the right attitude to their work.

Seven out of ten workers said that an employer's commitment to staff training and learning is important in helping them feel valued and 69% say it is important in making them want to work hard. It is fascinating how the more important values and motivations of the UK workforce come to light.

Particularly, organisational aspects such as management styles and the provision of training and development opportunities can be very important in keeping a workforce motivated, productive and happy"
